Thursday results include MHHS baseball team falling to Joe T. Robinson

The Mountain Home High School baseball team did not have a good night at home as they suffered their third straight loss. The Bombers stepped out of conference play and fell to Joe T. Robinson 9-3. Mountain Home drops to 10-7 on the year, and they’ll return to the 5A-West slate when they host Harrison on Monday.

In other baseball, Cotter was able to sweep a 2A-2 doubleheader over Ozark Catholic. The Warriors beat the Griffins 10-0 and 16-1.

Norfork had a successful afternoon on its home field. The Panthers defeated Omaha by a final of 16-1.

Flippin came up short as they played another 3A-2 conference game at home. The Bobcats lost to Valley Springs 9-6.

Yellville-Summit was also in league action as they went on the road. The Panthers fell to Melbourne 12-0.

Viola picked up an easy win as they hosted a team from across the state line. The Longhorns routed Couch 12-2.

Bakersfield hit the road and was able to dominate. The Lions beat up on Summersville 15-5.

Gainesville was able to sweep pool play in the Hartville Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs blanked Climax Springs 16-0, and they doubled up Norwood 8-4.

Salem had another successful road trip as they held their opponent scoreless. The Greyhounds shut out Mountain View 13-0.

Marshall ended up suffering a 2A-2 conference defeat on the road. The Bobcats fell to Tuckerman 12-2.

Ozark Mountain was swept in a doubleheader by Life Way Christian at Centerton. The Bears lost to the Warriors 11-1 and 23-4.

In softball, Cotter was able to invoke the mercy rule in both ends of a doubleheader with Mountainburg. The Lady Warriors blanked the Lady Dragons 10-0 in six innings in the opener, and they also won 20-3 in four innings in the late game.

Flippin was able to win a high-scoring game in front of the home crowd. The Lady Bobcats got past Valley Springs 15-10.

Yellville-Summit ended up with a road loss in the 3A-2. The Lady Panthers fell to Melbourne 16-1.

Viola finished the day with a dominating victory over Couch. The Lady Longhorns pounded the Lady Indians 20-5.

Bakersfield came up just short in a high-scoring game on the road. The Lady Lions were edged out by Van Buren 14-13.

Gainesville also had a road trip, but they were more fortunate. The Lady Bulldogs doubled up Alton 8-4.

Salem ended up with another conference victory. The Lady Greyhounds went to Mountain View and came away with the 8-0 shutout.

Izard County picked up another win in Brockwell. The Lady Cougars topped Mammoth Spring 15-0.

Marshall’s softball team did not fare any better than their baseball counterparts. The Lady Bobcats lost to Tuckerman 10-0.
