The Mountain Home High School baseball team came up short in its quest to break its current losing skid. The Bombers suffered a 5-3 loss to Harrison on Monday. Mountain Home falls to 10-8 on the season and 2-5 in the 5A-West.
Elsewhere, Cotter fell to Highland 19-1, Norfork defeated Calico Rock 16-1, Flippin shut out Mountain View 16-0, Bakersfield routed Winona 18-2, Salem topped Bergman 16-5, Izard County lost to Cedar Ridge 14-0, and Lead Hill beat Omaha 25-3.
In softball, Norfork fell to Calico Rock 11-1, Flippin was edged out by Mountain View 3-2, Yellville-Summit got past Valley Springs 5-3, Bakersfield doubled up Summersville 12-6, Melbourne squeaked by Cave City 5-4, and Lead Hill defeated Omaha 26-4.
