MH Junior High track athletes shine in events at Harrison, West Plains

The Mountain Home freshmen were among the junior high track teams in Harrison on Tuesday for the Junior Goblin Rosson Invitational.
The Junior Lady Bombers won the girls’ team title. Harrison finished second, Valley Springs was tied for sixth place, Bergman ended up eighth, Harrison’s junior varsity team took 10th place, Cotter and Flippin finished tied for 10th place, Yellville-Summit was 13th, Lead Hill ended up 14th, Ozark Mountain took 15th place, and Timbo finished 16th.
Individually for Mountain Home, Eliana Pepin won the high jump, the triple jump and the 100-meter dash and was second in the 200-meter dash; and Makenna Miller won the pole vault and the 200-meter dash and ended up second in the 100-meter dash.
Among other area athletes, Bergman’s Kyna See won the 800-meter run, Lieghann Cope of Harrison won the shot put and the discus throw, and Harrison’s Remington Watson won the long jump. Valley Springs’ team of Blair Kindall, Kaylee Shelton, Ressy Horton and Emma McElroy won the 4×200-meter relay; and Trinity Johnson, June Simon, Kami Edwards and Watson won the 4×100-meter relay.
Mountain Home was second on the boys’ side with the win going to Harrison. Omaha ended up fourth, Yellville-Summit took sixth place, Marshall finished seventh, Valley Springs was eighth, Ozark Mountain ended up ninth, Timbo took 11th place, Harrison’s C team finished 15th, Norfork and Harrison’s B team were tied for 16th, Flippin and Lead Hill ended up tied fo 18th, and Cotter took 20th place.
For the Junior Bombers, Brody Brown won the triple jump, William Tucker won the pole vault, Garret Watts won the long jump and finished second in the 100-meter dash, and Ryan Cooper was second in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. The team of Jeremiah Partee, Westin Potter, Tucker and Kayden Sabo ended up second in the 4×200-meter relay.
Other wins went to Lee Gray of Marshall in the 800-meter run, Marshall’s Gavin Massey in the 1600-meter run, Porter Blankenship of Harrison in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Harrison’s Dublin Eddings in the 400-meter dash, Xavier Frieze of Harrison in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and Ozark Mountain’s Bentley Middleton in the high jump. Harrison’s team of Eddings, Chase Clark, Tayson Waters and Killian Ireland won the 4×400-meter relay; Dawson Smith, Bentley Wade, Christian Cain and Brayden Rhein of Harrison won the 4×200-meter relay; Harrison’s Eddings, Wade, Rhein and Frieze won the 4×100-meter relay; and Ryder Larson, Tyler Liggett, Ben Badgett and Thompson Edwards of Omaha won the 4×800-meter relay.

Elsewhere, Mountain Home ended up winning all four team titles in the West Plains Middle School Ribbon Meet.
Among the Eighth Grade Bomber boys, Mason Reppond won the 100-meter dash, Colt Thomas won the pole vault, Michael Gomez won the pole vault, and Simeon Costner won the 800-meter run. The team of Ryan Trammell, Thomas, Kyler Caprisecca and Reppond won the 4×100-meter relay; and Levi Kasper, Maddox McGlone, Bredon Lara and Costner won the 4×400-meter relay.
For Mountain Home’s eighth grade girls, Ella Hampton won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and Jocelyn Green won the triple jump. The team of Callie Kohler, Green, Mayce Carlson and Brook Bertalotto won the 4×400-meter relay; Audrey Hughes, Shayn Whickersham, Carlson and Kohler won the 4×200-meter relay; and Hampton, Whickersham, Landry Litty and Hughes won the 4×100-meter relay.
For the Seventh Grade Bomber boys, Hudson Speer won the long jump, Uriah Sabo won the pole vault, Luke Cottongim won the discus, Austin Still won the 110-meter hurdles, Bates King won the 100-meter dash, and Asa Smeltzer won the 200-meter dash. Mountain Home also had teams winning the 4×800-meter, 4×400-meter and 4×100-meter relays.
Among the Seventh Grade Lady Bombers, Grace Rosenlof won the long jump and the 400-meter dash, Harper Hutchens won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Sonya Kruegar won the high jump, and Avery Beyen won the discus. The team of Blair Beyen, Kruegar, Samira Gassama and Rosenlof won the 4×400-meter relay; Madison Drott, Emma Jones, Rylee McCoy and Ella Morris won the 4×200-meter relay; and Kruegar, Gassama, Rosenlof and Hutchens won the 4×100-meter relay. Mountain Home also had a team win the 4×800-meter relay.
