With continuing efforts to improve quality of care, Baxter Health was recently awarded Diamond Level Recognition for Stroke Care which is not only the highest level which can be achieved, but also marks a level up from the Ruby Level Recognition Baxter Health won last year.

The recognition was awarded for Baxter Health’s outstanding performance based on the Arkansas Stroke Registry data covering patient discharges between July 2023 and June 2024. The Diamond Level marks a level of adherence of at least 95%.

Trauma Coordinator Charity Schaufler says there are 11 metrics a healthcare team must meet in or to achieve this distinction. One of those metrics is ensuring each patient receives timely and appropriate treatment.

Each stroke patient receives a band which Schaufler says is used to support data collection for continuous quality improvement.

Another metric noted for the award is door-to-CT times. Schaufler says patients need to be in the CT scanning room within 15 minutes of arrival.
