During its regular April session, the Baxter County Quorum Court approved the process to explore options and receive bids to get the tornado sirens that are currently malfunctioning fixed, and that process is currently ongoing. During that meeting, District 7 Justice of the Peace Bob Nault said it is believed three of the county’s sirens are not functioning properly, and not all citizens are hearing them.
This past week, Baxter County Office of Emergency Management Director David Stults was a recent guest on KTLO-FM, and he says the county started accepting bids on the sirens nearly 2 1/2 weeks ago.
