The Norfork High School baseball team was able to finish the week as the champions of the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament. The Panthers have been serving as the host team at Clysta Willett Park in Mountain Home, and on Saturday, they squeaked by Scranton 9-8. Jasper finished third in the tournament as they won a high-scoring game over Magazine 14-11.
Izard County ended up as the runner-up of the Class 2A Region 2 Baseball Tournament at Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden. The Cougars fell to Cedar Ridge 4-1.
Melbourne’s baseball team dominated the third place game of the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament at Cave City. The Bearkatz breezed past Newport 12-4.
The Cotter softball team was fourth in the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. The Lady Warriors lost to Hector 7-2.
Calico Rock had an easy win in the third place game of the Class 1A Region 2 Softball Tournament at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. The Lady Pirates routed Marked Tree 18-1.
Two area softball teams faced off in the final game of the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament at Cave City. Salem captured the title with a 5-1 victory over Melbourne.

The Class 1A Region 1 Softball Tournament came to an end at Keller Park in Mountain Home. Jasper finished fourth as they fell to Magazine 13-7. In the title game, Scranton shut out County Line 10-0.
