A Baxter County deputy is being recognized for the third time for saving a citizen’s life. Sergeant Craig Kocka received the Naloxone Life Saving Award for his actions.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Sergeant Kocka responded March 20 of last year to a 911 call of a possible overdose in the 7000 block of Arkansas Highway 5 North in Mountain Home. He arrived and found an 18-year-old male unresponsive in a chair.

Sergeant Kocka administered two doses of Narcan to the male, resulting in him beginning to stir. Baxter Health Ambulance Personnel arrived and transported the male subject to the hospital where he was treated and released.
