A rural Mountain Home woman is accused of stealing items from a few individuals and has had multiple drug charges added since being booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. Thirty-year-old Sierra Campbell is incarcerated with bond set at $45,000.
According to one incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force conducted an operation in Baxter County on April 17 to serve an arrest warrant on a male for a parole violation and absconding, and he also had a county warrant out for burglary. The task force obtained information indicating the male was in the southwestern section of Mountain Home. Personnel made visual contact with a male believed to be the suspect, and they followed his vehicle to Gassville.
The vehicle reportedly exited U.S. Highway 62/412 at a storage complex in Gassville and parked between to unit buildings. The male and his female passenger were seen exiting the vehicle, but they didn’t stray far from it. Task force members boxed the individuals and secured them without incident. The male was taken into custody, and the female, identified as Campbell, was also arrested after it was discovered she had outstanding warrants from the Mountain Home Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
At the scene, the vehicle contained several items in the hatch area and the back seat. Campbell reportedly claimed she bought everything at a yard sale on Cannie Baker Road the day before for $50. Arkansas Probation and Parole officers searched an area of the vehicle and discovered a checkbook issued to a Eureka Springs man and a health insurance card and two bank cards belonging to another female.
Campbell was questioned more about the items, and she claimed to have purchased them from a male on Cannie Baker Road for $50. A Baxter County investigator said he saw an item worth well over $50, and Campbell reportedly said the chainsaw belonged to her. The investigator also spotted a battery jump box, an air compressor, fishing equipment, bags and boxes with items inside and other miscellaneous items.
Campbell said she couldn’t remember how far down Cannie Baker Road the yard sale was or the side of the road the residence was located. She described the residence as “just an old lady house.” Campbell also claimed to be homeless and staying the night at a friend’s residence, but she wouldn’t identify the friend or where she lived.
Campbell reportedly stated she and the male were going to drop the items off in her storage unit. The investigator made contact with the owner of the storage facility, and he denied having any records of Campbell or the male renting from him.
A marshal conducted a patdown search on Campbell and located several older coins, paper money, medallions and other miscellaneous items in her pants pocket. She was originally booked for nonpayment of fines and failure to appear. While in jail, she reportedly refused an interview with the Criminal Investigation Division. Campbell posted bond two days after being booked.
On April 18, the sheriff’s office received a call from the owner of another storage facility between Gassville and Cotter claiming several units were broken into.
Days later, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle Campbell and the male were traveling in and discovered other items associated with the woman whose insurance card and bank cards were discovered. She identified several items that belonged to her or members of her family, and the checkbook belonged to a male who had done work for her.
Early this month, multiple witnesses claimed to have observed Campbell operating and loading several items in a moving truck. A deputy spotted Campbell driving the truck in the area of the Sheid-Hopper Bypass and Buzzard Roost Road on May 4 and took her into custody.
Another incident report indicates a Baxter County jailer was advised later that day by an inmate of Campbell bringing drugs into the pod. Jailers created a shakedown plan, and Campbell was escorted to the multi-use area. A jailer then went into Campbell’s pod and located contraband wrapped inside an undergarment. A plastic bag was found inside of it with several smaller baggies containing several different pills, a small amount of a green leafy substance, five small baggies of white crystal-like substance, a baggie of white powder and a blue plastic tube.
Campbell’s charges include residential burglary, breaking or entering, theft of property, 10 counts of possession of a controlled substance, furnishing prohibited articles possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal mischief and a probation violation.
