Arkansas State Police (ASP) say a traffic stop Saturday on Interstate 40 led to the discovery of more than 1,100 pounds of illegal marijuana.

Troopers stopped a tractor-trailer for a traffic violation around 10 a.m. near the 30-mile marker, just outside Ozark, according to a news release.

During a search of the trailer, authorities found three pallets holding 49 boxes of marijuana, weighing a total of 1,135 pounds.

The driver, 51-year-old Kok Tse of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center. He faces felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
