Country music stars will be making their way to Mountain Home June 12, 13 and 14 for the first annual Arkanfest at Hickory Park. The three day event is a re-imagined take on the previously popular Baxter Concert Series that was held during the summer months. Organizers decided this season to pool all the resources they had into one star studded weekend to give concert goers an experience they usually have to travel far away to experience.
Rickey Crawford with Frontier Events says the cost savings opened up the budget for the biggest artists they have ever booked on the Farmers and Merchant’s stage at Hickory Park.

Friday June 13 will see hitmaker and Arkansas native Joe Nichols taking the headlining slot.
Listen:
Up and coming star Lanie Gardner is kicking the festival off on June 12.
Listen:
Saturday night will feature popular cover group The Hips with guest Roxie and the Moon King. The three day festival will feature food vendors and the Baker District on full display for visitors. Crawford says keeping the event family friendly has been a focus during the planning stages and the price of admission can’t be beat.
