Two men have been arrested in Searcy County for the theft of guns, being felons in possession of guns and having a controlled substance and a deputy investigating the case had to be taken to the hospital after he became ill when he opened a pill bottle and residue flew onto him. Arrested are 49-year-old Andrew Wayne Frasure of Marshall and 63-year-old Eddie Eugene Wyatt of Conway.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residential burglary in progress. While en route, they were notified the suspects had left the area and deputies were able to located them and conduct a traffic stop and take the two into custody.

Wyatt had a glass pipe on his person along with a chain saw chain made into a weapon with an improvised handle. In the driver’s door was a pill bottle. When one of the deputies opened it, residue flew onto him and he became ill. He had to be taken by ambulance to Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton where he was treated and released.

Also in the truck were 16 firearms, a pellet gun and two bags containing ammunition and firearm accessories.

When deputies spoke to the victims at the residence, one of them informed law enforcement she had just inherited the house from her father who recently died. When they arrived that night, they said they walked in and Frasure and Wyatt were in the house. Frasure told the two the homeowner had been holding guns for him because he is a convicted felon and he was there to get them. The victims told Frasure and Wyatt to leave, and after they did, they noticed two of the deceased man’s guns were also missing.

Deputies spoke to another man who said Frasure had talked to him about holding his guns because the man who had been holding them had recently died and he agreed to. He had four pistols belonging to Frasure he turned over to law enforcement bringing the total number of guns seized to 20.

Frasure is facing 20 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts theft of a firearm less than $2,500 and one count each of first degree battery and residential burglary, all felonies; along with a misdemeanor count of possession of a schedule IV substance. He also has a parole hold placed on him and is facing a penalty enhancement for being a habitual offender.

Wyatt is facing 16 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of theft of a firearm less than $2,500 and one count each of residential burglary, criminal use of a prohibited weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia; along with a misdemeanor count of possession of a schedule IV substance. He also has a parole hold placed on him and is facing a penalty enhancement for being a habitual offender.

Both Frasure and Wyatt are being held without bond in the Searcy County Jail.
