
Memorial day will be a busy time for drivers and boaters. To make the holiday a safer experience, the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is participating in Operation Crash Awareness Reduction Effort (CARE).
Available troopers will be on the road and on the water Friday evening through Monday. Officers will enforce Missouri laws and assist people with a particular focus on hazardous moving violations, speed violations and impaired drivers.
During the 2024 Memorial Day holiday weekend, 1046 vehicle crashes occurred statewide which injured 486 people and killed 10. For boating, seven boating crashes were recorded with seven injuries. Troopers made 128 stops for intoxicated drivers and six for boaters.
