Mountain Home, Yellville-Summit athletes wrap up Track and Field season

Athletes from Mountain Home and Yellville-Summit recently capped off their track and field seasons with strong showings at the Arkansas High School Decathlon and Heptathlon, held last week in Fayetteville.

Representing Mountain Home, Camilla Johnson broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.97 seconds, surpassing the previous mark of 16.00 set by teammate Ali Czanstkowski. Johnson finished 9th overall in the Heptathlon with 3,765 points. Czanstkowski placed 18th with 3,477 points, and Eliana Pepin finished 51st with 2,642 points. Gus Wilber placed 12th in the Decathlon, scoring 5,357 points.



Yellville-Summit’s Fay Chism placed 17th out of 70 competitors in the Heptathlon. Her highlights included a 1.25-meter high jump, a 7.14-meter shot put, and a time of 2:39.16 in the 800-meter run. Teammate Eden Hardy finished 43rd in the Decathlon with performances in the 110-meter hurdles (22.24), discus (23.39m), pole vault (3.5m), triple jump (10.62m), and the 1500-meter run (5:07.24).
