Many area athletes named All-State in baseball, softball and soccer

The Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) has released the All-State teams for high school baseball, softball, Soccer and Track and Field and a number of area athletes have earned the honor.

BASEBALL

In high school baseball, five players made it in class 3A. They include Hayden Edwards and Grant Wren from Melbourne, Blake Ingram from Salem, Logan Avery from Valley Springs and Yellville-Summit’s Bryce Ott.

In class 2A, four players earned All-State honors. They are Will Morris and Cole Tilton from Cotter and Cash Arnhart and Xander McCandlis from Izard County.

Six area players earned All-State honors in class 1A. They include Canaan Hudson of Jasper; Landon Henson from Lead Hill; Maddox Chism, Caden Hatfield and Ethen Light from Norfork; and Gunner Cowgill from Viola.

SOFTBALL

In softball, Mountain Home had one player, Daelyn Harper, named to the class 5A All-State team.

In class 3A, six area players were named All-State. Making the list are Kallie Thornton, Rylee Hoskinds and Maggie Pierson, all of Melbourne; Emma Day from Mountain View; and Salem’s Callie Hall and Livy Smith.

Being named All-State in softball in class 2A are five area players. They include Gracyn Jackson and Myan McNutt of Cotter, Megan McBride from Izard County, Marshall’s Audrey Blar, and Kelly Middleton from Ozark Mountain.

Five softball players from the area have been named All-State in class 1A. They are Scarlett Owens of Calico Rock, Paige Randall and Lyla Raulston from Jasper, Erin Estes of Lead Hill and Raelyn White from Norfork.

SOCCER

Mountain Home had one boy and one girl named to the class 6A All-State soccer teams. Zane Darracq and Kelsey Blackwell earned the honors.

In class 3A, Mountain View had three athletes named All-State. On the boys’ team are Kyle Corners and Rush Sullivan and making the girls’ team is Quincy Fletcher.

TRACK & FIELD

In track and field, the Mountain Home boys placed six on the class 5A All-State team. They are Garrett Barr, Zach Daugherty, Jackson Free, Eli Jones, Conner King and Levi Payne.

In class 3A, two area boys and three girls were named All-State. The boys are Kolby Hurst from Flippin and Caleb Steward from Yellville-Summit. The girls are Bailey Ervin, Fay Chism and Hannah Hayward, all from Yellville-Summit.

Two area boys earned All-State honors in class 2A in track. They are Jake Massey and Toby Campbell from Marshall.

In class 1A, three area boys and five girls have been named All-State in track. On the boys’ side, the names include Landon Russell of Calico Rock and Kaleb Patrick and Casen Cowell of Timbo. Area girls named All-State in class 1A include Kaden Gilbert, Riley Hopson, Maddie Pyshny and Morgan Schmidt, all of Omaha; and Missy Wilson of Viola.

ALL-STATE TOURNAMENT TEAMS

The AAA also announced their All-Tournament teams for the just completed baseball, softball and soccer tournaments and several area athletes made those teams as well.

In baseball, Melbourne’s Edwards made the class 3A team, Caden Wiseman of Izard County made the class 2A team, Max Davis of Jasper and Gavin Stone of Norfork were named to the 1A team.

In softball, Mountain Home’s Chloe Bohannon made the class 5A team, Ali Smith of Salem and Melbourne’s Thornton were named to the 3A team, making the class 2A team were Kallie Skidmore of Izard County and McNutt from Cotter, and making the class 1A team were Raulston of Jasper and Owens of Calico Rock.

In soccer, Mountain View had one boy and one girl earn all tournament team honors in the state tournament. They were Comers on the boys’ side and Amariya Brown for the girls.
