The deadline to assess personal and business property is Friday. Normally, the deadline to assess property in Arkansas is the last day of the current month, but this year, May 31 falls on a Saturday.
Baxter County Assessor Jayme Johnson reminds residents to get their property assessed before the deadline so they can avoid a penalty.

Johnson says vehicles which have previously been assessed will need to be assessed again, though usually a reassessed vehicle will be valued lower.
