Coil, Kozeal Power Arkansas Past NDSU in Regional Opener

FAYETTEVILLE – Parker Coil’s shutout relief and Cam Kozea’s four RBIs led No. 3 national seed Arkansas to a 6-2 win over North Dakota State in the NCAA Fayetteville Regional opener Friday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Kozeal drove in runs in the first, third, and fifth innings, including a two-run homer, and finished 3-for-4. The Razorbacks (44-13) also got RBIs from Logan Maxwell and Wehiwa Aloy, who tallied his 59th of the season.

Starter Aiden Jimenez allowed two runs over 3.2 innings with four strikeouts. Coil (3-0) took over with two outs in the fourth and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings. Landon Beidelschies closed with two perfect frames.

Arkansas advances to face the Kansas-Creighton winner at 8 p.m. Saturday in the winner’s bracket.
