Flippin High School golfer Hudson Lindsey earned a spot in one of the world’s most prestigious junior golf tournaments after a clutch performance Monday.

Lindsey, who will enter his senior season this fall, competed in a regional qualifier for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. The qualifier offered a chance to play at the championship event held in late July at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida.

Lindsey entered the final hole of the round trailing by one stroke but sank a 12-foot birdie putt to claim the win and secure his place in the international field.
The Optimist International Junior Golf Championship draws more than 600 top junior players from over 30 countries and has helped launch the careers of major champions such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Lexi Thompson.
