A Paragould man arrested in Puerto Rico last week on a failure to appear warrant on child pornography charges has a criminal history in Baxter County as well. Forty-two-year-old Jonathan Enoch Bricker was arrested at the San Juan Veterans Affair Hospital. According to El Nuevo Día, the island’s largest newspaper, Puerto Rico Police Bureau officials confirmed Bricker had been in the U.S. territory for about three weeks.    Officers with the Arrests and Extraditions Division located and arrested Bricker during a scheduled appointment at the VA facility.

According to court records, Bricker was convicted in 2019 of two of the 30 counts of distributing, viewing or possessing matter depicting child pornography he was charged with in a plea deal.   He was also required to register as a sex offender.

That case was reopened following one of his two arrests in Baxter County in September of 2023. Following multiple delays in his case, the judge issued a nationwide extradition order and a failure to appear warrant for his arrest.

MOVED TO BAXTER COUNTY

Bricker moved to Baxter County in November of 2021 after being released from the Arkansas Department of Correction. The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office notified the public at that time that Bricker was a level 3 sex offender, someone who is at a high risk to re-offend, and was living in the Henderson area.

BAXTER COUNTY FELONY ARREST

Bricker has two arrests in Baxter County. He was arrested the first time Aug. 25 of 2023 for failing to comply with registration or reporting requirements, which is a felony charge.

It was learned in August of 2023 he had been working as a door greeter and in the lighting and sound room of a local church, where children are present, which he is not allowed to do.

The pastor at the church verified Bricker, who was living at Henderson at the time, had been volunteering at the church for about two years and had attended four weeks of training to perform the duties.

As a level 3 sex offender, Bricker is required to go to the sheriff’s office every six months and fill out a questionnaire. The questions include working and volunteering and being at church or social events. Bricker said no to both four times in a row on the questionnaire, purposefully masking the fact he was around children.

He also said he no longer used the telephone number the sheriff’s office had on file, but it was learned he was still using the number which is in violation of his reporting status.

He was in the Baxter County Detention Center until Nov. 2 before being transferred to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

BAXTER COUNTY MISDEMEANOR ARREST

In September of 2024, Bricker was again arrested in Baxter County, this time on three misdemeanor charges. Baxter County deputies arrested him late on the evening of Sept. 5 on charges of third degree domestic battery, interference with a communication device and resisting arrest.

He was released the following morning after posting bail.

MMA FIGHTER

Bricker was also an MMA fighter from 2012 through 2015, although he did not have much success. He was known as Enoch ‘The Irish Brick’ Bricker in the cage.

His overall record was just 2-6, including losses in his last four fights. His next to last fight lasted just six seconds before he was knocked out.
