Last week during the Baxter County Quorum Court meeting, the court passed a resolution to spend $16,000 on helping clear land on the site of the new Aldi store where the former El Chico restaurant once was located in Mountain Home. The vote was 8-2 with justices Bob Nault and Eric Payne voting against the measure.

Payne says he voted no because he doesn’t believe government should be involved in private business.
