Yellville woman commits suicide near ambulance bay at Baxter Health

A Yellville woman shot herself to death just outside of the ambulance bay at Baxter Health Monday morning. Police say the 43-year-old had a suicide note in her pocket.

According to the incident report from the Mountain Home Police Department, two security guards making their rounds noticed the woman walking in the area of the ambulance entry to hospital. As they started walking towards her, she pulled out a gun and shot herself in the head.

Inside her vehicle, police found notes written to family members.

The incident happened at 3:39 Monday morning.

HOSPITAL RESPONSE

Baxter Health released a statement following the incident.

“Today, members of the Baxter Health team responded to a tragic incident in which an individual took their own life outside our hospital. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers are with this individual’s family during this difficult time.

We are deeply grateful to everyone involved for their swift action, professionalism, and compassion in the face of such a difficult situation.
