One of the top girls’ basketball players in the area earned a top honor at a prestigious basketball camp last week.
Taylor Richardson of Viola, who is a junior this year, has been named to the All-Star team at the Nike Phenom National Girls Camp 2025, held August 7-10 in Los Angeles.
The annual camp brings together female basketball players from across the country for advanced instruction, competitive play and evaluation by national scouting services. Over four days, athletes took part in agility drills, layup exercises, timed sprints and skill challenges, as well as competitive games.
Each player received a written evaluation, and top performers were named to the camp’s All-Star team.
