The Baxter County Sheriff’s Department is currently pursuing a suspect through Baxter County Friday morning according to Chief Deputy Jeff Lewis.
Lewis states that a vehicle pursuit from Mountain Home, out West Rd to Hwy 126 N, then to Midway and up Hwy 5 N towards Missouri has been active this morning. The vehicle was found abandoned at CR 16 and Hwy 5 N. A manhunt is now underway in this area.
The suspect is described as a male and possibly black. The pursuit involved was for a non-violent crime. There is no known danger to public at this time. People living in area should lock car doors should the suspect try to acquire another vehicle. At last update a canine tracking team was enroute to the scene.
