Boston Mountain Rural Health Center has received a $40,000 grant from the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation to help expand its dental clinic in Yellville and increase access to oral health care in surrounding communities.
The expansion will add three dental operatories to the facility and allow the clinic to hire an additional dentist, dental hygienist, two dental assistants and a front desk receptionist. The project is expected to double the clinic’s patient capacity, reduce wait times and increase access for area residents.
“This expansion reflects Boston Mountain’s commitment to improving access to quality dental care for the Yellville community,” CEO Debbie Ackerson said in a statement. “By adding new operatories and expanding our team, we will be able to serve twice as many patients and ensure more families can get the care they need close to home.”
Boston Mountain provides general dentistry services, including cleanings, sealants, X-rays, fillings, crowns, dentures and some root canal treatments. Dental Director Bill Dill said the new space and staff will allow the clinic to welcome more patients, offer timely appointments and serve more underserved residents.
The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation supports projects that improve oral health care in underserved areas of the state. Executive Director Dr. Sharon Lanier said Boston Mountain’s expansion was selected for funding because of its innovation and potential to improve oral health outcomes in the region.
