If you have ever watched the television show On Patrol Live, you have seen suspects fleeing from police trying to get to their home, thinking if they do, they can’t be arrested there. A Mountain Home man recently led a Mountain Home Police Officer on a pursuit in the city where he fled to his house, but still wound up being arrested. Facing five charges for the incident, including one felony, is 37-year-old Johnny Lee Sprous.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Cardinal Drive driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle made multiple turns, failed to stop at stop signs and crossed into the oncoming lane while cutting a corner. The officer activated his lights and siren to make a traffic stop.

The vehicle driven by Sprous fled, ran more stop signs and a red light, passed vehicles in a no-passing zone and reached speeds of 70-miles-per-hour. The pursuit continued until Sprous reached his house where he was taken into custody. He told the officer he fled because he knew his license was suspended and he had a warrant. The warrant was for a probation violation.

Sprous is facing a felony charge of fleeing along with misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, driving with no insurance and improper use of evidence of registration. The license plate on the vehicle Sprouse was driving came back to IPC Auto Sales LLC. Sprous is not an employee of the company which had been out of business for quite some time. He is free on $5,000 bond.
