
The Mountain Home Lady Bomber volleyball program started the 2025 campaign with a bang on Monday. The Lady Bombers opened the season with a non-conference victory over their rival, the Harrison Goblins.
The night began with the junior high varsity squad winning their match 2-0. Defeating the Goblins by the scores of 25-11 and 28-26. Avery Carson paced the Lady Bombers with 12 assists and 1 ace. In other Junior High action the 7th grade squad lost in 3 sets by the scores of 21-25, 25-20, and 16-18. And the junior high junior varsity squad won 2-0 with their matches ending by the score of 25-15 in each set.
Mountain Home would continue the night with a 2 game sweep of the Gobs defeating Harrison by the scores of 25-11 and 26-24 in the junior varsity match.
The nightcap began with the Lady Bombers falling behind early in the first third of the match. Neither side would have more than a 2 point led until the very end of set 1 when the Lady Bombers won 25-22. Set two was much of the same, a very back-and-forth affair, that ended with the Lady Bombers also claiming the 2nd set by the score of 25-22. Mountain Home would hit their stride and find another gear and would bludgeon the Goblins in the final set by the score of 25-10, capping off a 3 set sweep for Mountain Home.
Daelyn Harper was named player of the game for the Lady Bombers. She finished the night with 9 kills, 5 blocks, 3 digs, and 2 aces. Aleigh Lucas racked up 10 kills and 2 blocks. Annyston Crooker had 7 kills, Maddie Simmons and Lauren Rauls were spark plugs for Mountain Home collecting 10 and 14 digs apiece. Cara Jackson capped a great passing attack with 27 assists.
Mountain Home will be back in action on Tuesday, August 26th as they will welcome Siloam Springs to The Hangar at 4:30.
