Mountain Home August sales tax show modest year-over-year gains

Mountain Home’s August sales tax collections showed modest year-over-year gains, according to figures released this week.

The city’s sales tax brought in $636,238, up $9,856, a 1.6 percent increase from the same month last year. Year-to-date, the city has collected an additional $18,420, a 0.4 percent increase.

Mountain Home’s share of the countywide sales tax totaled $300,060, up 0.6 percent from last August. Year-to-date, collections are up 1.5 percent.

The city’s public safety sales tax generated $238,589 for the month, a 1.6 percent increase from last year, while the park improvement sales tax brought in $318,119 nearly $100,000 more than needed to cover the monthly 2025 bond payment of $218,174.

The parks operations sales tax totaled $159,060 in August.
