
The Mountain Home Lady Bomber volleyball team was back in action Thursday night. Mountain Home opened 5A-east conference play on the road in Paragould. Both teams were coming off 5 set losses on Tuesday. The first set was all Mountain Home as the Lady Bombers took the opening set 25-20. Set two was all Paragould as the Lady Rams bounced back with a convincing 25-16 victory. Mountain Home looked to be crusing in set 3 as they got out to an 11-3 lead. But the hosts punched back and threw a 14-1 run at the Lady Bombers. Mountain Home would get no closer as they lost set 3 25-18. The 4th set ended up being the final set as the Lady Bombers were defeated 25-13 and fell 3 sets to 1 in the match. Mountain Home moves to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the 5A-east. Paragould moves to 1-2 and 1-0 in the conference.
Other scores around the conference included Marion sweeping Greene County Tech 3-0, Valley View beating Batesville 3-1, and Nettleton defeating Searcy 3-0.
Mountain Home’s 7th grade, Junior High Varsity, and Junior Varsity made quick work of the Rams. Needing only 90 minutes to win all 3 matches. The night started off with the 7th grade Lady Bombers sweeping Paragould by the scores of 25-19 and 25-7. The win moves their record to 1-1 overall. In the Junior High Varsity game Mountain Home needed only two sets taking the victory by the scores of 25-11 and 25-17. The Junior High Varsity Lady Bombers remain undefeated at 2-0 and 1-0 in the 5A-east junior high conference.
Mountain Home is off until after Labor Day when they will begin a 3 game conference homestand. They will face Greene County Tech on September 2nd.
