The Baxter Health Foundation is pushing toward an October deadline to raise $2 million for its Heartbeat of Hope: Heart and Vascular Expansion Campaign, an effort aimed at expanding access to life-saving heart and vascular care in north central Arkansas.
The campaign’s Phase 1 goal is set to fund a new state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab and expand patient services. Hospital officials say the new lab will allow patients to receive more advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures in Mountain Home, rather than traveling outside the region.
KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News spoke with Sarah Edwards, Executive Director of Baxter Health Foundation who says the project has drawn additional momentum from the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation, which has pledged a $500,000 challenge grant if the $2 million target is reached by Oct. 1.

Edwards went on to explain where the need for an additional cath-lab comes from.

Foundation leaders say donations of all sizes will help unlock the challenge grant and accelerate construction on the expansion. For more information on how to partner with the Baxter Health Foundation visit www.baxterhealth.org/foundation.
