The Mountain Home Junior Varsity Bombers edged Southside 7-6 on Monday night to open their season with a win.
The go-ahead score came with 3:17 left in the fourth quarter when Maddox Haynes connected with Seth Lara on a 4-yard touchdown pass. Michael Gillam added the extra point to give the Bombers the lead.
Dalton Hudson’s interception set up the scoring drive, while Eli Reiss intercepted a pass late in the game to secure the victory. Westin Potter also recorded an interception for Mountain Home, which improved to 1-0.
