Cody Cormican wins boys tournament, Lady Bombers finish 2nd

The Bomber golf teams were back on the home turf at Big Creek Country Club on Thursday. In a match that featured Dover, Greene County Tech, Harrison, Melbourne, and the Bombers, Mountain Home’s Cody Cormican was able to bring home the individual crown leading the field with a 1 round score of 72 (E). Jack Coleman shot a 78 to come home in 4th, Braxton Blagg shot an 82 to finish 12th, Teegan Booy closed the scorecard with an 84 to finish 16th, and the birthday boy, Jake Brashears, shot an 86 to finish 20th. Junior Varsity scorers included Bailor Tate shooting an 87, Ayden Havens at 89. Cam Stone bringing it home at 96, Jax Wescoat finishing with 100, Aiden Garner rounded out the day at 105, Nathan Jones ended Thursday at 120, and the Bomber scorecard was rounded out by Jarrett Warno at 122. Overall the Bombers would finish 2nd with a team score of 316, finishing 11 strokes behind the winners, the Harrison Goblins. Tech came home in 3rd at 326, Melbourne finished 4th at +63, and Dover rounded out the boys field at 361.

On the girls side Mountain Home’s Abby Edens paced the Lady Bombers at 96, Anna Torres finished at 98, Ashley Smith ended the day at 100, Molly Wright ended the varsity scorecard with a 118. On the JV card Brylee Blasdel ended at 130, Ava Caples finished up at 134, and Lila Grace Withrow finished at 142. Greene County Tech claimed the girls crown finishing at 268, Mountain Home was 2nd at 294, Harrison finished at 315, Melbourne ended the day at 335, and Dover closed out the girls field at 354.

The Bomber golf teams will be back in action in Fayetteville on Monday for the Fayetteville Invitational.
