
The Schliemann Center for Women’s Health will host a special program on Section 504 and Title IX on Tuesday at 6. Snacks will be provided.
Section 504 is a federal civil rights law passed in 1973 that prohibits the discrimination of people with disabilities. While Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in any education program or activity receiving federal funding.
The session will be led by Lance LeVar, an educator and consultant with more than 20 years of experience, including 14 years in administration. From 2020 to 2024, he served as a program advisor for the Arkansas Department of Education, focusing on Section 504 and Title IX, and has conducted more than 100 training sessions for school districts across the U.S.
The Schliemann Center is located at 606 Broadmoor Drive in Mountain Home and is a part of Baxter Health’s block of community houses.
