Flippin Bobcats continued their strong season Monday by winning their second consecutive tournament at Coopers Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne.
The tournament field included Flippin, Melbourne Bearkatz, Maumelle Charter Falcons, Salem Greyhounds and Cave City Cavemen. Maumelle Charter, which won last year’s state championship at Coopers Hawk by seven strokes over Flippin, entered as the favorite.
The Flippin Bobcats edged out Maumelle Charter by three shots. Maumelle’s Haydn Robertson earned medalist honors with a 73, while Flippin’s Hudson Lindsey was runner-up with a 76.
Other Flippin scores included Tucker Thompson with a 79, Peyton Moore with an 83, Truett Lindsey with an 89 and Aidan Hodges with a 92.
Flippin returns to Red Apple Inn today for an 18-hole match against Heber Springs, Lonoke and Sylvan Hills Bears. The Bobcats will play at Big Creek Golf & Country Club on Monday and at Turkey Mountain Golf Course on Thursday before hosting the 3A-1 Conference Tournament at Twin Lakes Golf Course next Friday.
