A burn ban has been issued for Ozark County. Ozark County Commissioners issued the burn ban Tuesday morning. Presiding Commissioner Terry Newton told the Ozark County Times the commissioners contacted the state Fire Marshall’s office and learned the county qualified for the ban due to the dry conditions.
Under the burn ban, Ozark County residents cannot burn any materials such as trash, debris or vegetation unless it is specifically approved by county and fire department officials. Violating the burn ban can result in penalties including being charged with a class A misdemeanor.
