Baxter County has implemented a new fraud alert system designed to notify property owners if documents are filed under their names, providing an extra layer of protection against deed and title scams.

Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese spoke with KTLO News and says the goal is to give the property owners an early warning if someone attempts a fraudulent property transfer.

The system is modeled after similar programs used in other counties across the state and aims to increase transparency and security in local property transactions. Reese says although the system won’t stop title fraud completely, it will act as a deterrent.
