ARktoberfest returns in October with beer, games, and charity focus

Mountain Home will celebrate ARktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 4, featuring craft beer from Arkansas breweries, traditional Oktoberfest games, food vendors, a kid’s zone and live music from the Ozark Mountain Bluesmen and Bad Habit.KTLO News spoke with Russell Tucker, President of the Baker District Merchant’s Association, who expands on the activities they have planned for the event.

The event runs from 3 to 7, with VIP ticket holders gaining early access at 2. Highlights include Mountain Home’s first official Beer Mile at 3:30, where participants chug a beer and run a quarter mile repeatedly until completing a full mile, and the Masskrugstemmen Stein Hoisting Championship at 6, which challenges participants to hold a one-liter beer stein for as long as possible.

Head brewer of Rapps Barren, Kyle Swallow says there will be plenty of special brews available.

All proceeds will benefit Mountain Home Backpack Food 4 Kids, a local organization providing meals for food-insecure youth.

Tickets for adults 21 and older range from $35 for the Beer Mile to $60 for VIP festival access. Children 11 and under can enjoy the kid’s zone for free, while ages 12 and older can purchase a wristband for unlimited game play and Kids Zone access is available through donation. Participants must show valid ID at check-in, and all sales are final. ARktoberfest will take place rain or shine.
