Friday Night Football: Yellville-Summit hosts Quitman; Melbourne heads to Salem in battle of unbeaten

Friday night football is back across the state.

Yellville-Summit is still looking for its first win of the season as the Panthers host unbeaten Quitman. Kickoff at Panther Field is set for 7.

Marshall is on the road to South Side, with both teams looking to even their records. Izard County makes the trip to East Poinsett County, the No. 1 team in Class 2A in the Arkansas Sports Media poll.

One of the state’s marquee matchups is a battle of unbeatens as the Melbourne Bearkatz head to Salem to take on the Greyhounds. Melbourne has outscored opponents 114-19, but they’ll be tested at Salem. As the defending state champion Greyhounds are sitting at 4-0, and have only given up 20 points all season.

Harrison (1-2) visits Alma (1-2), and Mayflower (3-0) travels to Mountain View (1-2).

In Missouri action, West Plains (2-2) takes on unbeaten Logan-Rogersville (3-0). Ava (1-3) travels to Salem, Mo. (1-3), Hollister (2-2) heads to Buffalo (1-3), and Forsyth (2-2) visits undefeated Springfield Catholic (4-0) in a potential upset. Branson (3-1) faces Parkview (0-3).

Statewide, several ranked teams square off in the Arkansas Sports Media poll. No. 1 Bryant visits Little Rock Central (2-1), while No. 2 Bentonville (3-0) plays at Springdale Har-Ber (1-2). No. 3 Fayetteville (2-0) meets No. 10 Bentonville West (2-1), and No. 3 Greenwood (3-0) hosts No. 9 Shiloh Christian (2-1).

Elsewhere, No. 5 Rogers (3-0) visits Fort Smith Northside (0-3), No. 6 Conway (2-1) travels to Little Rock Southwest (0-3), No. 7 Joe T. Robinson (3-0) heads to Watson Chapel (0-3), and No. 8 Benton (2-1) plays at Jonesboro (1-2).
