
The Lady Bombers would require a 5th set to determine a winner for a 6th time this season on Thursday. The Lady Bombers would begin the 2nd half of conference play with an ambition to push for a state tournament berth.
Mountain Home welcomed the Paragould Rams to town, Paragould entered a raucous environment for a game that would, more than likely, determine potential state tournament seeding.
The Lady Bombers would start off with a bang and take set 1 by the score of 25-16. Things would turn the other way as Paragould took the next two sets 25-17 and 25-22. The Lady Bombers would rebound with a 25-19 set 4 victory to send the match to a 5th set. Mountain Home would take an 8-6 lead but things would flip in Paragould’s favor as they would score 9 of the final 12 points to take a 5 set victory from the Lady Bombers.
Mountain Home was led by Daelyn Harper who had 19 kills, 17 digs, 8 blocks, and 4 assists. Aleigh Lucas, who was named the Jim Holsted Athlete of the Week this week, had 15 kills. Aspen Vostatek would tack on 12 kills. Cara Jackson led Mountain Home in passing with 41 assists along with 21 digs. Lauren Rauls added an astounding 32 digs as well.
Mountain Home will go to Jonesboro to compete in the Hurricane Classic on Saturday.
Mountain Home’s junior high squads continue their dominance of the east. The 8th grade squads acquired a sweek winning 25-11 and 25-10. The 9th grade match saw Mountain Home win 2 sets to 0 by the score of 25-12 and 25-21. Mountain Home’s Dawson Harper led the way with 7 kills and 7 digs. Shayn Wickersham would also tack on 16 digs. Mountain Home’s junior high squads will be back in action on Tuesday at Greene County Tech.
