This role is different than simply MIG/TIG welding. Duties include, but are not limited to preparing steel for welders with focus on the layout (measure, cut, tack, weld), alignment, and precision assembly of items.
Skill requirements include Math proficiency (including metric conversion and fractions). Skillful reader of measuring tapes. Skillful understanding of blueprints (flat and isometric). Ability to lift/move heavy objects, promote team efforts and goals and problem-solving ability. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Basic start is $15/hr. But with the above skill set, wage IS negotiated (and adjusted based on ability, performance, and tenure). Some training provided.
Average hours are 40-50 per week, M-F (some Saturdays). Benefits include 401k, Holidays, vacation, BCDBS group health.
