Trunk-or-Treat returns Oct. 11 with haunted trail, costume contest and family fun

Mountain Home Parks and Recreation is gearing up for one of their biggest events of the year. The 16th annual Trunk-or-Treat is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 9 at the L.C. Sammons Youth Center located at 1101 Spring Street.The family-friendly event is free to attend and is expected to draw thousands of residents. Trunk-or-Treat features a wide range of activities, including a costume contest, bounce houses, a climbing wall, and spooky story time presented by the Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County.

The costume contest is broken into 7 divisions of 0-2 year old’s, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-17 and a division for group costumes. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate by decorating and setting up along the trail. The event also presents a chance for students to earn volunteer hours by assisting with the event.
