On Sept. 25 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man who showed up on the caller’s property and said he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Baxter Health ambulance was already on scene when deputies arrived. The man was identified as 61 year old Ronnie Reece. He had been released from the Farmington Correctional Center in Missouri on Jul. 8 after serving a period of imprisonment for sex crime offenses.
The deputy asked Reece where he had been staying, but he refused to answer any questions. The caller believed that Reece may have been living in a building across the street. Reece was subsequently transported to Baxter Health for medical attention.
On Sept. 26 the deputy contacted the property owner across the street and was allowed access to the building there. It was discovered that Reece had forced his way into the building and had made a cot on the floor. The deputy met with Reece at the hospital, and he admitted to having broken into the building.
Ronnie Reece had failed to register with the Sheriff’s Office upon moving into this county. He was booked into the Detention Center on Sept. 26 after his release from the hospital on charges of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirement, felony and breaking or bntering, also a felony.
Reece is scheduled to appear before the Circuit Court to answer on Oct. 6. He is currently homeless.
