Bomber cross country teams shine at Lyon College Invitational

The Mountain Home Bomber cross country teams raced strong at the Lyon College Invitational, featuring both junior high and high school JV runners.

The JH Boys placed fourth with 164 points, just behind Harding Academy’s 162. Jace Bickford led the boys, finishing 12th in 9:49.38. Other top finishers included Pruett Sutton (37th) and Daxtyn Small (46th).

The JH Girls dominated the meet, winning with 117 points. Holly Baxter finished 5th in 10:45.07, followed closely by Lucy Dodson (6th) and Blair Beyen (8th). Clinton and Heber Springs placed second and third.

The HS Boys captured first place with 58 points, outpacing Maumelle Charter (74) and Searcy (83). Jonah Hartman led the Bombers, placing 5th in 17:51.96, with Caiden Kaspar (9th) and Sam Rodriguez (10th) rounding out the top scorers.

In the HS Girls 5K, Alivia Gordon placed 25th and Kristen Eddings 39th.

The Bomber varsity teams will take their next step on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville.
