Government shutdown will not affect Corps of Engineer parks, for now

With the shutdown of the Federal Government this week, area residents have been wondering about the status of the many Corps of Engineer parks in the area. The good news is they are staying open, for now.Jay Townsend is the Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Army Corps of Engineers’ Little Rock District and Erin Jimenez is a Public Affairs Specialist. They say they know how important it is to keep the parks open so it’s business as usual right now for all Corps parks according to Jimenez.

The Corps of Engineers Little Rock District manages parks at Norfork, Bull Shoals, Table Rock and Clear Water lakes in north central Arkansas and southern Missouri.
