Barrett Miller’s 2nd 200+ yard rushing game was not enough to overcome 4 Bomber turnovers on the road against Shiloh Christian, taking the loss 55-41.

The Saints would strike first with a 2 yard rushing touchdown with 9:45 left in the quarter. Barrett Miller would respond with a 54 yard touchdown rush of his own 45 seconds later to tie the game 7-7. At the 7:06 mark Shiloh’s Max Eldridge added a 42 yard rushing touchdown to retake the lead. After a failed 2 point conversion Shiloh would lead 13-7.  3 minutes later Mountain Home’s Brantlee Phillips would connect with Gus Wilber on a 33 yard bomb to give the Bombers a 14-13 lead. In the next minute Shiloh would reclaim the lead on a 62 yard touchdown reception by Cohen Beach. After getting the Bombers off the field Shiloh would score, on essentially the same exact play, to get another 60 plus yard touchdown reception from Cole Creighton to Beach again to cap off a 45 minute first quarter with a 26-14 lead.

Mountain Home would fight back in the 2nd quarter with a rushing touchdown from Phillips to cut the lead down to 26-21. The Saints would march down the field and cap off a scoring drive with a 4 yard scamper from Eldridge to extend the Saints lead to 33-21. With the 1st half clock trickling down Phillips would connect with Wilber again for a 4 yard touchdown to cut the lead down to 33-28 heading into the halftime break.

Mountain Home would get a stop against Shiloh to begin the half but would stall on offense on their first drive. After a scoreless 8 minutes to start the half Mountain Home would end the drought with a Miller rushing touchdown, his second of the game. Mountain Home would miss the two point conversion but the Bombers would lead 34-33. Mountain Home would force a stop on 4th down and get the ball back. After Mountain Home was forced to a 3-and-out, Shiloh would commit a penalty to give the Bombers a first down. Shortly after the Saints would snag a Brantlee Phillips pass to collect a pick-6 and retake the lead 41-34 to close the 3rd stanza.

After the Bombers regained their composure they would march down the field and Barrett Miller would march into the endzone for his 3rd rushing touchdown of the game to tie it up at 41 apiece. With 6:30 left in the game Shiloh’s Chandler Kemp would haul in a 26 yard touchdown pass to give the lead back to Shiloh for the final time. Shiloh would score one more touchdown to secure the full amount of tiebreaker points and cap off a 55-41 victory over the Bombers.

Mountain Home’s Brantlee Phillips would throw for 193 yards on 17-29 passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Phillips would also tack on a rushing touchdown. Barrett Miller rushed for 247 yards on 36 carries and found the end zone 3 times. On defense Mountain Home’s Blake Vacco would collect an interception and add 2.5 tackles along with a sack. Drew Vigna would also lead the Bombers defensively and make 8.5 tackles.
