Central Arkansas capitalized on three red-zone trips and leaned on a strong defensive effort to secure a 23-17 win over Utah Tech on Hall of Fame Weekend at Estes Stadium.

Running back Landen Chambers rushed for 108 yards on 25 carries, marking his third straight 100-yard game, while first-time starting quarterback Austin Myers completed 20 of 31 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown.

After Utah Tech (1-5, 0-2) took a 7-0 lead on a 39-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, Central Arkansas (2-4, 1-1) answered with a 7-yard scoring run from Chapman McKown and later a 28-yard field goal by Caleb Jones. The Trailblazers tied the game 10-10 at halftime.

Utah Tech briefly regained the lead in the third quarter on a 46-yard touchdown, but Myers connected with Tyrell Pollard for a 21-yard score to even it. Jones added two second-half field goals from 39 and 33 yards, and Jacoby McQuiller’s late interception sealed the win for the Bears.

Pollard finished with 78 yards receiving, while Ashtyn Williams led the defense with 10 tackles.

Next, Central Arkansas visits North Alabama on Oct. 11. Kickoff is set for 3:00.
