
Retired paraprofessional Nancy Russell has been named to the Mountain Home Education Foundation Hall of Honor as the recipient of the Earnest Perry Outstanding Support Staff Award.The award recognizes retired classified employees whose behind-the-scenes dedication helped support students, teachers, and the overall school community. It is named in honor of Earnest Perry, a longtime Mountain Home Public Schools employee known for his commitment to helping others.
Russell worked for many years at Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary, where she served as a paraprofessional assisting teachers in classrooms and supporting students in their daily learning. She was often found in the Creating Pathways to Success classroom, a program designed for nontraditional learners, where her patience and encouragement made a lasting impact.
KTLO News spoke with Russell who shares her early life in Mountain Home and says that education means more to her than just teaching.

Russell will be formally honored at the 2025 Night of Honors ceremony on Oct. 9 at Big Creek Country Club. The annual event recognizes educators, alumni, and community members who have made significant contributions to Mountain Home Public Schools.
