Tuesday night’s area volleyball action featured some hard-fought matches and plenty of excitement. Melbourne came away with a 3-1 win over Salem, improving to 11-5 on the season, while Salem fell to 11-10. Marshall battled past Omaha, also 3-1, giving the Lady Bobcats a 9-5 record and leaving the Omaha at 5-10.
Flippin edged out Cave City in a tight five-set match, winning 3-2 and moving to 10-7 for the season. Bergman stayed strong with a 3-1 victory over Yellville-Summit, improving to 15-4, while Yellville-Summit falls to 2-15-1. Cedar Ridge rolled past Alpena in straight sets, 3-0, and Siloam Springs swept Harrison by the same score, keeping their 12-7 record intact while Harrison dropped to 2-11-1.
It was a night of wins and momentum swings as area teams continue to fight for positioning late in the season.
