Firefighters battled an early morning blaze Thursday that destroyed a home on Buford Road just outside Mountain Home.
According to the Mountain Home Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 6:02 a.m. to a residence at 426 Buford Road after reports of a fully involved structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames.
Firefighters confirmed that all occupants had made it safely outside before their arrival, and no injuries were reported. The home was declared a total loss due to extensive fire and smoke damage.
Mountain Home Fire Department Engine Company 1 led the response with 11 personnel on scene. Additional support came from two tanker trucks and one support vehicle. Buford Fire Department also provided mutual aid assistance during the operation. Firefighters remained on scene for roughly two hours to ensure all hot spots were extinguished and to prevent rekindling.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation by fire officials.
