The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is taking a major step forward in its athletics program. The Trojans have officially accepted an invitation to join the United Athletic Conference, beginning July 1, 2026.
The move was announced Friday by UA Little Rock Chancellor Dr. Christina Drale and Director of Athletics Frank Cuervo, following approval by the UA System Board of Trustees. The decision marks a new era for Trojan Athletics, positioning the program among a growing group of competitive Division I schools.
Thirteen of Little Rock’s 15 sports will compete in the UAC, while women’s swimming and diving will remain in the ASUN and wrestling will continue in the Pac-12. The Trojans will join a lineup that includes Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, UT Arlington, and several other regional universities.
Cuervo said joining the UAC “aligns perfectly with Little Rock’s mission to build champions in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.”
The Trojans have enjoyed strong success since joining the Ohio Valley Conference in 2022, capturing 11 conference championships and earning back-to-back top-two finishes in the OVC Commissioner’s Cup.
Fans are invited to celebrate the move at “Trojans United,” a public event and press conference set for Wednesday, October 15, at the Jack Stephens Center. Doors open at 9, and the program will begin at 9:30.
