
Baxter Health announced Monday that Victoria Belopolsky, MD, has joined its medical staff as a board-certified cardiac anesthesiologist.
Dr. Belopolsky brings more than two decades of experience in cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesiology, transplant anesthesia, and perioperative care. She previously served as a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital in Dubois, Pennsylvania, and was an assistant professor of cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2009 to 2019. She also practiced at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
She earned her medical degree from Ukraine National Medical University in Kiev and completed her anesthesiology residency and cardiovascular anesthesiology fellowship at the University at Buffalo in New York. Dr. Belopolsky is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology, and she holds additional certifications in advanced imaging for mechanical circulatory support devices and combined heart and liver transplant anesthesiology.
Her professional expertise includes cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesia, structural heart procedures, transplant anesthesiology, pediatric and obstetric anesthesia, trauma and critical care, and perioperative teaching and leadership. She has contributed to research on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygenation strategies, blood transfusion outcomes, and surgical process improvements.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Belopolsky enjoys horseback riding, volunteering with the Humane Society, reading, skiing, hiking, political history, classical music, and photography.
