Lady Bombers Tame Lions in 3 Sets

The Mountain Home Lady Bomber Volleyball team took their final road trip of the season on Thursday. Mountain Home moved to 7-7 in conference play after a 3 set sweep of the Searcy Lions on Thursday. In Mountain Home and Searcy’s first meeting the Bombers would sweep the Lions 3 sets to 0.The night began with Mountain Home claiming the junior varsity contest 2 sets to 0 and by the scores of 25-23 and 25-22.

Set 1 required overtime but Mountain Home would fight off a scrappy Lion squad, who had as big as a 4 point lead, by the score of 26-24. Set two saw Mountain Home fall to a 14-12 deficit. After a timeout Mountain Home would rattle off 10 straight en route to a 25-18 victory in set 2. The 3rd set saw 6 different times the score was tied but Mountain Home would finish off the Lions 25-19 and 3 sets to 0.

The Lady Bombers, however, were eliminated from postseason contention on Thursday after Paragould and Greene County Tech were victorious in their matches.

The Lady Bombers will close off the season with Marion on Tuesday and Nettleton on Thursday for senior night.
